Photo by John Tobe.7 Dr. James Meng, Vice Chair of Asian American Government Executive Network (AAGEN), gave a presentation on Asian American work force at the first Asian Job Skills Seminar & Career Fair on Nov. 18th  held at CCACC. The event was cosponsored by five organizations: the Chinese American Professionals Association (CAPA), the Monte Jade Science & Technology Association Washington DC Chapter (Monte Jade -DC), the Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA-DC), the Chinese Community Activity Culture Center (CCACC) and the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce Greater Washington Chapter (TCCGW).8 More than 100 young professionals and international students heard from Jennifer Freeland of Planned Systems International on some valuable resume writing tips. This was part of the job skills seminar provided for job seekers who also attended the job fair for networking and recruitment opportunities.9 Dr. Chen Yu Yen, (right) VP of Garnett Fleming, answered questions from participants. Garnett Fleming, Inc. was one of the 20 private companies taking part in the 1st Asian Job Skills Seminar & Career Fair. U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and U.S. Department of Justice were also on hand to recruit potential employees. 10
