  1. Hi,

I am helping the OCA to host the national convention in DC this year. Is it possible to reserve 500 copies of your June/July eidition of the newsletter so we can place them in our welcome packages for attendees?

    Thanks,
    Jocelyn

  2. Yes, I will follow up with an email.

  3. You can NOT have an open immigration policy in a rich, overly generous welfare state. If we let everyone who wants to come into this country come in; we will have a population of over half of a billion people in just a few years. And, the country can NOT support that many people. So the question is, Who do we let in?

There is a friend of mine in the Philippines. Her husband is an electronic technician and he has a good job in the Philippines. She is a graduate electronic engineer who has worked for the US Embassy as a communication-computer engineer for over twenty-five years. Their daughter is studying nursing in the Philippines. And, their English is better than mine. She first applied to come to this country over twenty-five years ago. Because they are law biding people they realize that they have to fill out all of the paper work, meet all of the requirements, and wait in line for over a quarter of a century, if they want to come to the US. So that is what they are doing.

Another person from a country much closer to the US does not have a good education, can not speak English, can not get a good job in his own country, and he also wants to come to the US. But, he does not want to fill out all of the paper work. He does not want to fulfill the immigration requirements. And, he does not want to wait several years. So he says, I do not care about the US immigration laws. I am going to come to the US illegally and stay as long as I want to. If they catch me and deport me, I will be back next week, because I do not care about their laws.

As I said before we can NOT let everyone who wants to come to this country come in. So if YOU had to choose between these two people. Who would you choose? The law biding, engineer from the Philippines, or the law breaking, poorly educated person from another country. Should we punish people who follow the law, and reward people who break the law? And, who should be given first chance to become a US citizen?

I have lived in several different foreign countries for over eighteen years. And, I have served as a sponsor for several families who came to this country legally. I am NOT against people who want to come to this country legally. But, I am against people who ignore our laws, come into the country illegally, and then demand that we give them amnesty and let them stay.

If you use this letter do NOT use my last name.

  4. I wanted to let you know that for the last few months, the content in Asian Fortune has improved drastically. I used to flip through the paper, read one or two things, and throw it out. But the last few issues, I found myself reading many of the articles all the way through. I even ripped out the article on self-esteem to refer back to it. Please keep up the good work. Whatever changes you made, they are truly working. I am now a devoted reader.
