Asian Fortune and Asian American Chamber Host MEGA Diversity Job Fair 2014 at Virginia International University

Twenty eight companies and organizations took part in the Mega Diversity Job Fair on October 9th, 2014 at the Village Drive campus of Virginia International University located in the heart of Fairfax in Northern Virginia.

The event showcased big names like Wells Fargo, Verizon, iTech, FedEx, Synchronisys, Hollywood Casino, FEMA, Tapestry Solutions, Manassas City Public Schools, Techligent, U.S. Department of States, Asian American Chamber of Commerce, Asian Fortune Magazine, Fairfax County Human Resource, Prince William County Police Department, BlueCross Blue Shield Association, Fairfax Fire and Rescue, Prince William County Police Department, Washington Language Center LLC, USDA and many others.

The companies and organizations participating in the job fair found the experience to be rewarding. “The venue was great and I was pleasantly surprise at the amount of inquiries,” said Carrie Foster, a recruiter with Logistics Information Management Systems based  in Yorktown, Virginia.

The job fair took place in the newly acquired campus of the university located at 4401 Village Drive, where more than 500 job seekers poured in to meet face-to-face with hiring employers from a variety of fields and industries.

“This is a great way for the students of VIU and the local community to get their feet wet and practice the essential skills of interviewing, because a lot of these companies are ready to hire within a short frame of time and are looking for the right candidates. You can gain so much just from attending,” said Dr. Isa Sarac, president of Virginia International University.
