Fiesta Asia Will Feature Over 100 Acts

Now in it’s eighth year, Fiesta Asia, sponsored by the Asia Heritage Foundation, will be more colorful than ever. The street event will take place in downtown DC this weekend on May 18th from 10am – 7pm and feature over 100 performers and vendors.

A new highlight of the festival this year is the Fiesta Asia Emerging Stars talent competition for children ages 5-17. The competition is part of the Asia Heritage Festival’s goal to educate the younger generation about Asian culture.

Another exciting event in this year’s festival is Banghra Mania! Every year, the staff at the Asia Heritage foundation picks a street style dance and teaches it to participants for a colorful, energetic and fun time.

The festival is part of a month-long celebration hosted by the Asia Heritage Foundation during the month of May. Previous events have included a Fiesta Asia kick-off event in Silver Spring, MD and a Mother’s Day event at the National Zoo.
