Raymond Chen Benched. But That’s Good News

Are we potentially looking at the first Asian American Supreme Court Justice? Maybe. Raymond T. Chen has been tabbed for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit by President Obama. It’s a high- profile judgeship that should put his name on future lists for the Supremes. Chen is currently Deputy General Counsel for Intellectual Property Law and Solicitor at the U.S. Patent and Trade Office. He and wife Lisa Hsiao live in Bethesda with their two kids. The A-List found Chen posing with Christopher Chan of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of DC at the group’s Lunar New Year party the night of his nomination.
