If you looked for departing Energy Secretary Dr. Steven Chu at the President’s State of the Union Address, you didn’t find him. Dr. Chu was this year’s designated survivor, the one cabinet secretary who stays away from the Capitol in case the roof caves in and no one else is left to run America. His office won’t tell us where he was that night, but earlier in the month we spotted him checking out some energy-guzzlers at the big auto show downtown. Secretary Chu is calling it quits after four years, so you won’t see him at next year’s SOTU, either. “I am grateful that Steve agreed to join in my Cabinet and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” President Obama said. The A-List agrees. Department of Energy Photos
